Plantable paper is a biodegradable handmade paper with seeds embedded in it. Sow it in soil and it grows into a plant. When the paper is planted under 1/8 feet of soil, the paper decomposes and the seeds germinate out of it. This paper brings ecological balance in a great way since, for every 1000 sheets of paper, a tree is cut. And for every tree cut to make paper, we are trying to promote the planting of 1000 saplings!
At present, we work on the following seeds: Mustard, Marigold, Tomato, Basil and Tulsi and produce a maximum of 2000 GSM paper thickness and 22x30 inches of paper area.
Currently, we use Screen Printing for higher GSM papers and digital offset printing for lower GSM papers.
You can plant your own seed paper by following these given steps in the same order:
- Dampen the seed paper.
- Place the moistened paper in ample sunlight for the seed to germinate into a sapling
- Plant the paper with the sapling in the soil
- Nurture it with care and grow it into a plant
- Make the world a better and greener place to live in.
